I have been on amiodarone for almost 1.5 years. It was a hard adjustment to make, but the stuff sure works! Due to the serious side effects and my age, my doctor decided to switch me to tikosyn. It's in the same family of drugs as amiodarone without the side effects. Not on it yet - you have to be off the amiodarone for several weeks and then have a 72 hour hospitalization to go on tikosyn.

Good luck!

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
