Ablation

Hello All!

I just came home from the hospital after having an AV Node Ablation. I went in for an EP Study last week, and nothing was found to ablate, but then on Wednesday night I had one of my episodes of fast heart rate and it didn't slow down on it's own like usual.
I called my doc first thing Thursday morning and she wanted me to go to the hospital for treatment and observation. When I got to the hospital, I was taken straight to Diagnostic Prep where my doctor was waiting for me. She informed me that the best treatment for my stubborn heart would be an ablation. This was quite a surprise, but I was ready to do whatever it took to get back to normal.
I am felling really good other than chest pains and difficulty taking in a deep breath.
Thank you all for your support and advice thus far. I hope that this is the end of all of my problems and that I will feel "normal" again very soon.

Amanda

ablation

I have an AV node ablation. It is possible that the AV node was not completely ablated at the first attempt. Nothing really to worry about. Ablation proceedures are known to be a bit hit and miss. Mine went ok. Even when a complete ablation is achieved electrical pathways can, over time re-establish themselves in rare instances, but you have had no time for that to happen.

You know you're wired when...

You always have something close to your heart.
