Idiodiagnostic

"Idiopathic" is an adjective used primarily in medicine meaning arising spontaneously or from an obscure or unknown cause.

I've decided to coin a new term "Idiodiagnostic" to mean a diagnosis guessed at spontaneously or from obscure or unknown information.

How about it?

Idiopathic should mean and often does mean that the doctors dont know what caused the problem. Instead the word sometimes means they know what caused it but dont want to tell you. This can include the fact that they made a mistake and have caused the problem themselves.
The word should or seems to mean "I think you need more tablets". How about drspockonology or guessonostic diagnosis. You should change your name to ElectricCrank and give the Dr a real reason for running out and slamming the door behind you. Have some more fun Frank !!! Cheers Peter
