greetings all pacers!
i received my first Pm in 12/7 and it seems to be working well. it is set to pace primarily in the right atria since i have sick sinus syndrome. i also seem to have another situation which compounds the issue. my pulse has always been very low and so has my blood pressure. resting pulse is set at 60 BPM due to the PM but my BP is still too low and variable. now runs 105/65 when sitting. when i stand, it drops to 90/70 roughly and can produce lightheadedness etc. i am taking a drug to help increase BP but it is not effective all of the time. i have the dual lead PM. i dont see the cardiologist for a few more days, any thoughts on whether i need more pacing in the ventricle or another approach?

I had a pacemaker inplanted 03/19/2011. I am still very tired and dizzy at times. I fell sleepy and weak and confused. Can this be because my pacemaker is set to low? I also have a demand 2 chamber St. Jude device. Please help me with a solution. I have an appointment with another doctor for a second opinion, because my present Doctor makes me feel like my symptoms are all in my head.

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!

I have a 2 lead medtronic pm that was put in June of 2006 as an emergency after heart stoppage. Never had a problem before. I am pacing in the right atria at 50-60% and the right ventricle less then a %. Originally my lower rate was set at 55 and after still having problems I was sent to an ep. He was great and he raised the lower rate to 70. This has helped very much. I thought I would not like the rate that high but to be honest I do not feel any effects from the higher rate other then feeling better! When he raised the rate he also took ne off all meds! Maybe this could help you.
