Whenever I get really upset I literally feel as if I am going to die. My heart feels as if it is about to stop.

My personal experience is that anxiety or stress do have a big impact on my PM (or something in there), but as people with heart problems (not always the correct terminology isuppose), we have to be more aware of heart health.

Stress will make me feel worse than anything. I can do something physical and get tired, but it will pass. Stress just zaps me and I feel terrible. I have found that calm, positive thinking helps me feel better.

Take care,

When i first got my PM, I always felt that a lead was going to pop out... when I bent over, it felt as if my chest would fall out of my body... all this made me crazy. Over time, I would forget that I had a PM. The more I went back to my regular activities, the better i started to feel. The little pin pricks of pain eventually went away as did the soreness of the pocket.

This site was a huge help as I found that the little details that bothered me had been experienced by most here. Smitty is a national treasure for his thoughtful and informed responses.

Blue, why do you feel as if you're going to die when you're stressed? Is your heart beating so fast that you feel it in your throat?

You know you're wired when...

You have a little piece of high-tech in your chest.

Your anxiety is normal. It takes some of us a little time to adjust to the new friend. As much as they love you, family and friends without a device just cannot understand the adjustment we go through. That is why this site is so valuable.
