Rare diseases...

Hey, it's me again! Ok, you know how tou see a whole bunch of awareness signs for things like autism, cancers, and whatnot? Not to draw away the attention from those diseases, but wouldn't it be nice if we all got together and raised awareness for less common things like congenital heart block and congenital heart disease! Just my two cents worth...+

Heart Block Awareness...

I think this is a good idea! I thought I was reasonably well educated (college degree and all that...) along with my hubby who has a terrible gene pool when it comes to heart issues, and have been very proactive about taking care of all the "right stuff". Eating well, walking, etc. I had no cholesterol problems, no trigliceride issues, etc. So I thought I was "in the clear" ~ until my heart block showed up suddenly! Wow, what a surprise! I didn't even know what it was. Yikes!

I would love to know more about heart block, especially if there is anything "we" can do to avoid it in our lives! Too late for me, but not for my children! Is it even preventable? I am clueless! Anyone know?
