Outing at work..

Well, we are about to have our end of summer outing at work. Unfortunately it's at a waterpark, so, I will not be participating in the "water" activities, but I will probably go just to hang out.

They do have volleyball, but I just suddenly realized that is the possibility of getting hit by the ball on my ICD and being in pain for hrs worth playing the game. I guess I will have to decide or go make myself a makeshift chest guard real quick......

how long?

How long have you had your icd? If it's more than 6 or 8 weeks, go for it. What is holding you back? If it's how it looks, get a sun shirt or wear a tshirt. If it's safety, you're not going to get hit on the rides and they won't hurt the leads. I love water parks! I get on everything, drive my kids crazy dragging them on the stuff they want to skip, lol.

Volleyball, well, it's up to you. Watch and see how rough they are. I would think the average company picnic game won't be wild and competitive, more tossing the ball back and forth. What are the odds of getting hit in that exact spot? (slim!) If the ball comes at you, you should have plenty of time to move/duck/whatever if you can't return it. Me, I wouldn't play volleyball because the water slides are more fun. ;o)

Why sit out?

I love water parks...is there something about water slides that could hurt your ICD?

Well....

I could try to get a rash guard or a sleeveless wetsuit top, but seems to be a combination of being lazy and really not wanting to in the first place, just haven't done it.

had mine..

I've had my ICD for 11 months. It's actually a combo of it looks like crap and I also always want something between the "outside" and my ICD. The 1/16-1/8" of skin doesn't really count.

T-shirt really isn't thick enough to protect and to cover it up, thus I really need a rash guard or a wetsuit top.

You run like the bionic man.
