Looking good!

Hello fellow PM folks!
I'm in my 4th day of recovery to revise PM. Surgery went very well on Nov. 8th! I no longer have a wire protruding out, nor skin paper thin! The surgeon relocated underneath my muscle just below my collar bone and you can't even tell I have a PM, with the exception of the incision! It's night and day! I am very excited and thankful! They used Durabond (like superglue) to close the incision and tell me that it'll take about 5-10 days to wear off. Having it underneath my muscle is definitely different than on top of it! There is definitely more pain in the recovery! My muscles are very sore but each day it gets better and my range of movement is improving. I've been using an arm sling as I have done in the last 3 surgeries I've had...it helps with fatigue in that tender area and if you are like me, it reminds you that you can't be using your arm even though the pain meds are telling you that you FEEL GREAT! :) (A little hint for those getting ready to undergo any PM surgery). Thanks for the prayers and good will! Keep looking up!

hi bunny. i am glad you are doing okay.it sounds like you now after recovery are going to be able to cope with it better than when it was above the muscle. sometimes i don't like it either when it is right there. i can feel the outline of it. most times i don't think about it tho. thank god. if it was bothering me tho i would do what you did. very sensible. hope the rest of the recovery goes well jessie

Let us know how your healing process goes. I'm getting a lot better (2 mo post-PM), but everytime I get a sharp pain, I think "hey, cut that out!" Luckily they are getting much less frequent. I really hope my body and PM finish adapting to each other without revision surgery. I'm sure several other members will want to know your progress also. Hang in there, and remember we're in this together.

Thanks for the Tip!

Hi Bunny,

Glad to hear your surgery went well and you're recovering ok. I’m still waiting for a PM, but after surgery I’ll try your advice about getting an arm sling. After reading some members experiences regarding under skin placement, I’m also going to ask about a deeper implant too. Gotta be worth a shot!

Take care,

Shelly (UK)

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.
