I have a St jude p/m installed in August of 07. I was told not to use a chain saw because of a problem from ignition interference. I sold the saw, but now I'm wondering about outboard motor's ignition systems. Does anybody have any info on that.

Well I use a powerful petrol hedge trimmer and ive had no problems. Just dont put the engine to your chest and you should be fine. Peter

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didnt slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.
Don't worry

As long as you don't lay on the cowling when the engine is running you will be fine. I have a booklet from St. Jude (given to me by my cardiologist) that lists whats safe and what you need to stay away from, and safe distances. You should be able to get that info online from any of the manufacturers web pages. I still use my weed wacker and haveno problems, and I have delivered a number of out board powered boats with no trouble.
