Difficult one because I was led to believe that the PM was always placed on the opposite side to your lead arm. So being right handed mine is on the left?

I am six weeks in and started playing badminton again about two weeks ago. Heavily padded in the operation area. Have had no probs at all - and the cardiologist said once the PM settled in back to normal - except skiing.

My advice would be to ask the doc on account that if my PM and soreness of the op site was on my right hand side - I could not play badminton yet. Too sore.

I have had my PM for nearly two years and have complete movement and do ANYTHING I want. However I would have to say that it was a good year before this was possible for me as I has issues with the PM rubbing against my ribcage and then sticking out under my arm so had to wait for my body to make the tissue it wraps around foreign objects after which it was fine.
I would take it easy at first but with your PM techs say so you should be able to build up to full sports activities.

Take care

no problem

I don't know when your PM was put in. I went to my Dr. after 1 month and he told me i could do anything I want. I am right handed but also bowl some left handed. My pm is on the left. Opposite side of my normal bowling arm. But after you are healed that should make no difference. I bow 2 leagues a week and many tournaments on weekends. Some as long as 16 to 20 games I have had no problems except for pooping out sometimes. My energy level is better but not always where it was when i was younger. I am 65. I average 220 to 230 every year.in league. I have won 6 scratch tournaments since getting my pacer. I have had 2- 300 games and 3-800 series since the PM. I couldn't live without it. (little joke) Check with your Doc. on a time frame and Enjoy the game. Bowlrbob

Thanks all!

The thing is I am not worried about PM or the operation area as after 1 year it is compleately healed. Only fear I have is about the leads. Has any one has experience with lead problems due to bowling or badminton.

Lead

I dislodged a lead at 15 months. I'm pretty sure it was a big, chest popping stretch that did it as i still recall the "tug" feeling in my chest. The next day the gym I couldn't run my warm-up as usual. I think it was just a freak thing as I had gone back to my exercise routine months earlier with no problems.

I don't badmitton, but do bowl from time to time... my suggestion is to not let your PM hold you back and go about your normal routine. As long as you're not stupid about it and start boxing or playing tackle football, you should be OK.

You know you're wired when...

You can proudly say you’re energy efficient.
