I have seen postings here from firefighters. But I think it would all depend upon what your current heart issue is. When I first got my pm I didn't ever think my life would be the same again. But after 5 months it's all pretty good and back to normal. Check posts from a few days ago, someone posted about hunting and Smitty's response was excellent. As long as you are not resting the butt of the rifle on your pm site you should be ok. But you can't lift anything heavy for 6 weeks so have a bud dress that deer and carry it out.
I pray that all goes well for you, let us know what happens.

Agee with other comments. You probably will feel better after the PM (as I have) & remember the American with Disabilities Act, that may give you some help with the job.

Good luck, Janet

Great comments from your friends here! I don't know your situation, but in any case I would gather ALL the information, make sure you really need a pacer, and put it off as long as you can if possible. I guess I'm very sensitive to that because my daughter had her first implant for complete block at age 9 (1998), lead fracture and new implant (2002), Medtronic recall Nov. 2005, but pacer left in place because of surgery risks. She/we have many years ahead of us to deal with this.....

My 26-yr.-old son had a great time going to Texas a couple of times with a college friend from there to hunt turtledoves. They had a table (tables?) stacked with them! Happy hunting! Let us know how your Oct. 1 appointment turns out. Are you close to retirement age from the fire department?? Mary Jane

If your only problem is needing a pacer. You will probably be stronger and feel better after the procedure than now. You very well could do your job better. And hunting should not be a problem either. Hang in there and keep us posted. Bowlrbob
