Doe's anyone fell this way

Its been 4days since my PM was put in and i feel really spacy all most like I am on L.S.D or stoned. I feel really wierd about my perception of my suroundings, its like I am out of body. Has anyone felt like this do to the surgery or is my head just playing games with me.

Me Too

I felt like that too for a week or so. I had complications and had to have a chest tube so I was in the hospital for three days and on pain meds. I thought that might have had something to do with my "weird" feeling but it sounds like it might have happened anyway. I was dizzy, weak and had that out of body feeling. Just give yourself time to adjust and heal. Rest when you are tired and don't overdo it. It has only been 4 days. It will get better with a little more time.

It's not in your head.

I too felt this way for a week or so after mine was put in. I think because it is a pretty traumatic experience. Also because you hadn't been working right for some time and now things are better. I think it takes some time to catch up. Another thing it also takes a little time to realize that a machine is helping to keep you alive. That is also traumatic. This does clear up I don't remember how long mine was put in almost 2 years ago. Things get way better and after awhile you almost forget you have a pacer. Bowlrbob

yes i felt at first like i was spacey as you say. i think it was shock and then realizing my vital organs were not receiving adequate oxygen for awhile really freaked me. i look at pictures last summer when my grandbabies were visiting and i looked like death warmed over for sure. also it was freaky thinking i was living and breathing because of a little machine . hope this helps i feel a lot better now jessie

To tell you the truth I never even give it a second thought. While growing up it never stopped me from doing anything and to this day my girlfriend or my kids need to remind me that I have one!
