1st Time Pacemaker.
Edora8 DRT inserted in September. Cruise planned next May.
I usually wear a seasick patch behind my ear. Anyone experience contra-indications or complications from it?
Thank you.

Good to hear. I will indeed as my cardiologist. They diagnosed sick sinus hence the pacemaker.
electrical

It's always good to ask! However, if your only issues are electrical then it's probably fine.
If you want a non- medicine alternative, I recently discovered the Relief Band. It's a bracelet with tiny tens unit (no effect on pacer, we tested it). I usually do bonine rather than the patches, but the bracelet is by far my favorite.

I worked on a Canadian Coast Guard ship, a weather ship, based on Vancouver Island BC.
Two ships operated so one on station all the time. It was an 8-week on duty, 5-weeks off. I was on CCGS Quadra.
The ship was located in the North Pacific at a position called Ocean Station Papa. It was a 10 by 10 mile square that the ship had to be in at all times. It acted as a beacon for shipping and aircraft, and provided a search and rescue function.
I was there in January and February. Ocean Station Papa is in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but sea and sky. Never saw another vessel. Nearly three miles of water under the keel and no chance of rescue.
Seas were mountainous and quite often the cabin porthole would be under water. To maintain position, the ship had to turn. It was all about judging the timing of the wave crests and troughs. The ship, based on a destroyer design, would list to alarming angles. Anything not fixed down moved. The mess had tables with plastic table cloths that were designed to provide grip and in rough weather, hinged barriers could be raised around the edge of the table.
Of course, seasickness could be a major problem until you found your sea legs. On boarding ship, you could have an anti-nausea injection. It took me about three days to become used to the motion. A colleague was sick for the whole 8-weeks.
When you get back to solid land, the sensation of moving lasts for days, made worse by having a bath.
When you could keep your food down, meals were the high point. Learnt poker and twice a week there was a film show. On calm days, the crew would fish for Pacific salmon.
Returned to the UK from Calgary having travelled through the Rockies on the Canadian coast to coast train.
Loved every minute of it and the Canadians were so welcoming. BC and Oregon are beautiful places. Would go again tomorrow but the ships have been replaced by satellites or fixed buoys. Not quite the same.

There are no contraindications for Scopalamine transdermal patch with pacemaker but a lot depends on your medical history. Please fill out your bio for better advice and suggestions. Thanks
You know you're wired when...
You forecast electrical storms better than the weather network.

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!
it's fine

Nothing about the patch will affect the pacer. It's possible the underlying reason why you have it may make it a bad idea, that's a question for your doctor.
