I am six weeks post implant and also feel a pinching at times along with a burning feeling in the PM area on a regular basis.
I am hoping the pocket wound is still healing and in a few more weeks this goes away.

Are you having any other symptoms or discomfort other than the pinching feeling.

good luck in your recovery

Pinching

by PortCityPacer - 2024-10-19 17:28:14

I am 13 weeks post implant and have had a pinching/burning/needle stick sensation for the past 3 weeks and I too think it's just the pocket tissue healing. I just had my 3 month checkup with my EP and she said she doesn't feel anything that would pinch and advised me use Mederma scar gel on the scar.

Healing sensations

I'm about 6 months post placement.  Internal healing of any surgical site can continue for up to a year.  One way to tell if healing is complete  is by the color of the scar.  As long as it is still pinkish, there's still active healing.  Once it turns white (or close to your natural skin color), healing is complete.

As part of healing scar tissue forms.  Scar tissue is very, very tight, tough and dense.  The best way to manage is to keep using your shoulder and arm to maintain range of motion (as allowed by my EP), and once "safe" be sure to do some shoulder and chest stretching.  You can consult a PT, or your MD/RN, or look on Youtube for some ideas.   Yoga poses can also work wonderfully.

I still get some occasional  twinges or a rare sharp stinging sensation.  When this happens it is usually because I've forgottten to stretch.   I expect that they will become less and less over time (and I remember to stretch more regularly!).

Good luck with your healing and "welcome" to the club.  ;)

Normal

Some call it feeling ant bites. You're going to have various weird sensations as the tissues and nerves heal. Give it time. I felt normal after seven months. Up til then, there were various twinges now and then. Hope you get better by the day!
