Lifting

I assume one month is 4 weeks. You need to let your chest heal. You aren't going to lose any muscle mass by waiting a few more weeks. I would say wait for about 8 weeks. If you are like me, you will have a hard time lifting light weights and not going back too soon to heavy weights. Go run, walk, bike, or whatever to stay in shape. I ran my first marathon after I got my first pm. When I lift I do every lift I want to do. The only thing I don't do is rest the bar on my pm. My best bench press was after getting my pm. Some say that lifting will wear out your leads faster. I've had a few lead extractions, like most people that have pm's for any lenth of time. I'm quite sure I wouldn't be as strong physically at 75 if I had quit lifting weights because I got a pm.

Have a great life, my friend,

Start now.

Your PM insertion wound should be 100% healed, your leads will be fine.

Be prepared for twinges from the PM pocket (they tend to pull the tissue layers apart to create space for the device and that takes a while to heal), especially if you do 'chest-opening' exercises (e.g. cactus pose, or supine lateral raises).  You may still be getting twinges 4-6months later.  The repeated bunching of your pecs under the PM may be uncomfortable, so it if starts to hurt, do a different exercise.

I was implanted on Wed, out on road bike on Sunday (nice fully waterproof dressing over subcuticular sutures).

Go for it!

Workouts

I was cleared after 6 weeks to resume all activities (except cage fighting, lol) including gym workouts. I chose to wait until 8 weeks and now do cardio (including some running) and strength training. I've had no problems other than some burning type pain in the PM pocket. Just listen to your body's feedback and enjoy your workouts.

I'm a little late, but I just went for it.

Light training immediately. Yoga, stretching, soft resistance bands. Swimming was never my thing, but my best rehab came from swimming (a lot of thorough cleaning afterwards).

I did a lot of things without permission from my doc, but getting back in ASAP ans listening to my body.  My first surgery was age 26, so that helped (young, dumb, and quick to recover).

Meditation and getting in tune with my heart/body did a lot to progress my process.

Just start slow/easy- resting in between (especially early on- one or two day rests) then go again. Slow and steady..

I love this new part of me, and very, very thankful that this technology exists and I know that it's all only going to get better over time.
