Hello! I also have CCHB and got my first pacer when I was in my 20's. I will be 58 this month, and getting my 6th pacemaker soon. 

The pacer fixes what is wrong with our heart, leaving us with a normal heart beat. I had two children after I was paced, normal pregnancies and deliveries. My children are now your age, all of us are healthy and active. 

A pacemaker enables us to live a perfectly normal, healthy life. 

In case you did not know, CCHB is not genetic, so it is not something we can pass on to our children.

A pacemaker enhances your life and should free you from some of the possibly restrictive symptoms you had before.

Although your records should indicate that you have a pacemaker - some treatments need to take this into account - if you decide to start a family, just make sure early on that your clinical professionals are aware that you are a pacemaker patient.

YES  - you can give birth with a pacemaker present in you. You have to get pregnant!

Bio info is important. During pregnancy there is increased cardiac output and more strain on the heart.

Research has found that life expectancy in people with pacemakers who do not have significant underlying medical conditions (e.g., heart failure, atrial fibrillation, or other serious non-cardiac conditions) approaches that of the general population. Best results are with dual lead pacemakers  - hence the importance of completing your BIO information.
