Back to the H. Pylori Discussion

So apparently it was Norovirus that gave me stomach bloating and cramps for a few days. That's gone.

Now because my primary decided to check me for numerous bacteria's via stool test... I have H. Pylori which I posted on another post.

I saw my primary dr today and he wants me to take 3 medicines (antibiotics included) for 14 days. This is insane.
I try my best to eat healthy and I feel fine but I have complete heart block sooo I'm afraid of having really bad reactions. Biggest fear is having palpitations or shortness of breath because of these antibiotics at the same time.

I will see my cardiologist tomorrow to discuss.

I don't know what to do about this situation.

thanks for posting your results, which am sure some you did not want to hear.  you should take all until you have a reaction.

I hear you

I'm sensitive to most meds tried. I take nothing but vitamin D3. I dread taking antibiotics and have had stomach erosions from ibuprofen that I had to take for pericarditis years before I had a pacemaker. When a recent tick bite led to no choice but to take doxycycline, I was also prescribed zofran to make me not throw it up. I mustered through the regimen because there was no choice.

I understand your fear. I have had reactions to so many medications! But the treatment prescribed is less trouble than NOT treating it. You have to fight it with something. Consult with your cardiologist but do what he says even if it means getting through those prescriptions.

God be with you. 💕

Antibiotics

I can well understand your reluctance to take medication like antibiotics especially if you are free of the medication burden.

My blood pressure is entirely controlled by medication as well as cholesterol levels with statins.

No amount of non-medication lifestyle gets them down to acceptable levels.

Your prescriber would take the decision to offer a course of antibiotics carefully.

Like you, I have heart block, but don't worry that clinician prescribed medication is going to affect my heart problems.

I recently had two bacterial infections during June, chest and urinary tract and they were making me feel very unwell.

Eventually I was given two consecutive courses of antibiotics for 12 days (Amoxicillin and Trimethoprim) which cleared most of it up. Without, I was getting progressively worse and probably putting more strain on an already damaged heart.

Hope you get a good outcome whichever course of action you take.

Yes! I'm afraid it's pain but unfortunately you would have to take all the meds including antibiotics for the eradication of H.Pylori.
