Heart beat sensation

I'm almost a year out from getting my PM.  For much of the last year I am very conscious of my heart beating harder than usual even at complete rest.  It feels like it's beating harder than it used to pre-PM.  I'm 100% paced in my ventrical.  Is this normal?   It's not painful but it's weird.  My resting heart now is 70 so it's not high but I'm stuggling to feel ok with this constant pounding.

Get your settings from the EP-team that look after you.  It *may* be that your RV lead is providing a pacing voltage that's higher than ideal and this may be what you feel.

RV pacing (esp. from a lead at the apex of the RV) is not physiological, and it may be that this is contributing to what you feel.

Send me a private message if you want more information when you've got your settings.

Best wishes.

Turn it down?

I'm 100% paced too. When it was initially set at a low of 70, I felt like my heart was pounding. They dialed it back to 60 bpm and I am no longer aware of it 24/7.

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!
