Percentage of Use

I had my first follow up appt. yesterday and they found that in the first week, my PM was being used 16% of the time. Is there a normal amount or is everyone different?

Pacing........

Hi Jocko - Last PM check I was pacing 100% in the left ventricle and 52% in the atria. As Cathryn described this depends on the hearts' ability to conduct electricity. Next Weds. the 15th I have a checkup at PM Clinic and am anxious to see what it is now. It's working great, I do know that much for certain. Most days I don't give it a second thought! Just so happy it is keeping me going. Good luck and good pacing!

I am relatively new with the PM stuff. I met with my doc one week after the inplant and I was pacing only 1% of the time since it was put in. Made me wonder if I really needed this thing. He explained that there are times my heart works fine on it's own.

Changes Every Visit

Hi Jocko,

I have found that my percentage is different for every visit. I have gone from 5% to 32%. I go back on Wednesday and can't wait to hear what I am at now. I don't feel any different and can't tell when the pacemaker is doing it's thing.
