Trish, I see you are an Atrial Fibrillation (AF) sufferer. It could be AF, although I agree with Lavender, you should consult a doctor quickly, especially since this is not a first implant when rhythm disturbances would have been more likely. With a relatively straightforward replacement pacemaker, there won’t have been the initial trauma of placing the leads and attachment of the leads to heart tissue, so the disturbance to your body should have been minimal. However as an AF sufferer, you can perhaps expect disturbances at any time and a replacement procedure would certainly have been a trauma.
Also I wonder if all of your old settings have been transferred to the new device, or whether you need to return to the clinic for some adjustments? The only way to find out what is going on is by speaking to your device team/doctors. You could perhaps send a transmission to your clinic and ask them if they could check these for any concerning heart rhythms/events or to look for any other possible causes for your acute symptoms?
I hope your symptoms resolve quickly

About a week after my recent implant, I couldn't even walk up a flight of stairs. Extreme shortness of breath. I went to the ER and had every cardiac test in creation! Turns out during the lead extraction and new implant, they gave me "hospital induced bilateral pneumonia!" Go get seen and don't play with this. I waited too long thinking it was the surgery..

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
Call doctor

I think it's best to ask your doctor about this. I never had shortness of breath after pacemaker insertion. You probably had your one week check but they won't mind you calling to ask this.
