I have had many MRI's with out any problems. first you have to get clearance from your cardiolgist. once that is done. Of course i understand if you have older leads. you might have a problem. My Pacemaker is a MRI sure scan by Medtronic.

I've been paced for 15 years and have used a land line phone for most of that time. Never had any problems with it or been advised not to use it.

Hello
There are very few things you need to worry about in normal activities with a pacemaker.
They are pretty bombproof
In fact, you would have to go out of your way to do damage to you or the device.
If you stick to doing common sense things, you will be fine.
And that's from someone who fractured skull and jaw cycling, had quite a few 249 volt shocks.
Enjoy life.

paced for 36 years, had wired land line phones for a good chunk of that. Technically I stil have a corded phone on my desk at work but for various reasons we just dont use those anymore. corded or cordless land line phones are not an issue. You actually are going to be hard pressed to find any common device that is. Hugging a transformer (big enough to hug) or sitting on a power generator at a dam, okay...maybe there is a concern there...Home electronics, riding mowers, etc. Nope, no problems.
You know you're wired when...
Like the Energizer Bunny, you keep going.

I see no problem in using an 'old-fashioned' land phone. There is no electro-magnetic radiation coming from such a phone.
This is the reason why you cannot undergo a MRI scan. The radiation coming from such a unit is dangerous for your pacemaker. CT scans are allright - I've had one myself lately...
