Voltage

I'm a bit puzzled by your voltage figures.  Which settings are you referring to which describe the voltage on your interrogation papers?

Changing the voltage won't affect your breathing, but other changes in how the PM is programmed which may cause early / late pacing impulses may cause the lack of breath for a beat or so.  It sounds as if you are describing PVCs. They feel like a lack of breath followed by a thump (forceful heart beat).

Anxious feelings - if they feel like fast heart rates - may be arrhythmia / tachycardia. Do you have an arrhythmia diagnosis?

Your question last time was about sleep and we tried to explain that the PM's voltage is turned up higher than is necessary to cause a heart beat when it is first implanted. This is to help the wires bed in.  This additional charge affects how strongly you feel your heart beat.  e.g. more forcefully.  If you are referring to this feeling as 'symptoms' then yes, it will affect how you feel.

Similarly the voltage setting affects how you experience any other symptoms that are related to how you heart is beating e.g. if you have an arrhythmia which the pacemaker can't detect, you may feel the effect of misconducted beats being passed down to the ventricles more strongly and unpleasantly whilst the voltage is higher.

Does that help?

That's fair enough TPMP. Apologies for bamboozling you with settings info if that's the case. I thought that you wanted that information.

Perhaps ignore the settings for now and concentrate on coming to terms with it all.

Best Wishes
