Pacemaker

I found out Friday that my pacemaker lead from my BIOTRONIK went  from bipolar to unipolar on its own due to changes of impedance. I am having it switched back ( I believe) Tuesday.

Maybe coincidental but before knowing this happened I woke up Friday and my pacemaker area felt weird- not pain but sore.

My heart feels fluttery since Friday, which is not normal. Today I got super dizzy and had to go to the floor quickly, which is also not normal.

My minimal research and knowledge says that the lead might be failing.

The battery was replaced in November and leads have been in since 2013. Any information on this would be appreciated.

I would speak to your doctors

Ladybug, I would speak to a doctor quickly or go to the emergency department.  Heart Flutters and feeling super dizzy and needing to go to the floor sounds worrying.  How are you now?

I don't feel any of us can give you any information.  You need to be seen and to have some urgent checks.  I see you mention you are having a check on Tuesday, (?today).  I hope this is the case and that you stay safe.  Please keep in touch

unipolar

Unipolar feels, to be blunt, like crap. They switched mine when one of my leads started to go bad but I didn't even leave the office before I asked them to switch it back. Unipolar can feel fluttery.

It might be a programming thing, it might be that you need a new lead. If you do, sometimes they can cap off the old and simply add a new one, or they can extract and start with all new.

Agreed
