Just been "done" new PM

This might sound odd . A few days ago I had a PM fitted in Plymouth. As a job I am a vocalist . i have a job with a Big Band next Friday which entails me being involved with around 8 numbers. Would I be ok to carry that out ? no lifting etc involved. Just dont want to let people down. I told you it was an odd one !!. Bern

Life can't stop

by Shmurphy - 2023-07-16 13:36:05

I had tickets to see my favorite comedian for the night that I happened to have my pacemaker placed. I didn't plan for that, and I ended up missing the show. I was discharged three hours before the show started and I regret not going. As long as you don't move your arm too much, I don't see why you can't do what you do. I've only had my pacemaker for 8 days though and I don't have much experience to go on. But I regret missing out on some fun opportunities due to this thing and I don't want you to feel the same.

Welcome to the club you did not want to belong to.  By the way would help if you filled in your profile.  As some of our answers could be different such as your location, type, model.

As a  non medical  person i think you should be ok. Just be careful not to lift your left arm above your shoulder when you sing.  Of course no heavy lifting.  Stay haydrated and you should be ok.

If you feel it, do it

Unless you've been told otherwise, if you feel up to doing your thing just do it.  Listen to the constraints you've been given and the rest is up to how you feel. Some are ready to get back to their life before getting off the table.  Others take a while, both physically and emotionally. Who are you?

The faster that you can get on with life, the better off you're going to be. Don't over-think this.

why not?!

If you feel up to it, go for it.

You know you're wired when...

You can finally prove that you have a heart.

A pacemaker suddenly quitting is no more likely to happen than you are to be struck by lightening.
