tiredness

Hi PM Pals

Does anyone out there suffer from extreme tiredness. I just can't seem to shake it. It is worse when I sit down to the computer. I know they say blue is a relaxing colour but the energy seems to just drain out of me. My blood test was ok with just a rise in iron level. My ecg showed no further changes. My doc rang me last night. My only conclusion is that it is the heat (it is summer here) or I am just getting plain old and worn out. My brain is so active but the body lets me down!!! Cheers to all

Hi Billie,
Take it from me friend that it could be the heat.I usually like the hot weather but this summer has been a bit to much!!
Hope when you are here in April it will be a lot cooler.
I seem to be the opposite to you.I can keep going physically but my brain just goes to sleep and I cant concentrate in the heat.
I think you hit the nail on the head when you said about getting plain old and wornout.
Take care and look foward to seeing you and Brian soon-Love,Kayxx

Tiredness

by JohnS - 2008-01-17 09:01:33

Hi Billie
I had real trouble with being tired after my pacemaker was implanted, and after the node ablation. After lots of testing the doctors turned my resting rate up to 80. The believe my body got used to the higher rate from A-Fib and could not adjust to a lower rate. It took 6 - 8 months to get this straightened out.
Hope this helps
John S

Thanks

Hi PM Pals

Thanks for the comments. Kay, John s and Electric Frank. My pm is set pretty low 50/130 I have been wondering for a while if it should be adjusted on the lower scale back to min 60. I don't have to see the sp for nearly a year. But if I can't shake the lethargy will seek some help. Cheers pals. Billie

Low BP

by ElectricFrank - 2008-01-18 12:01:10

It seems to be common to have lower BP after getting a pacer. In my case I find my resting BP especially is lower than it used to be. Sitting at the computer or for me stretching out in my recliner will drop my BP down as low as 95/55 or so. I think the lower blood flow into my brain just starts to cause me to fade into a relaxed state. I have learned to get up and stretch or walk around the house. This seems to get me going again. Turning up the lower rate on the pacer might help too, but that can also affect the times you want to relax or take a nap.

It's worth a try

I also agree with Frank and John. Whenever I have felt unusually tired, my EP will set my resting rate a little higher, and it's like night and day! I feel so much better! But, I also don't do well at all in the heat, an just barely endure the sweltering summers in the south of the US! Take care!
