PM moves while asleep!

Hi all, I sleep on my right side, PM is on left but I'm being wakened with it having moved and on edge, sticking out. It's really uncomfortable. Just had my 6 week check today and was told this sometimes happens but should settle when internal heating is complete! How long does it take?

Hi there!

When I lie down, I put a small pillow up against the pacemaker because I don't like it leaning forward either.  It's attached in there on one side as far as I can tell. That makes it lean and stick up on one end when lying on my right. The pacemaker is on my left. It's perfectly harmless and you shouldn't touch it or wiggle it at all. A pillow holds it lying down.

My sympathy

Yours is not a problem I've ever had, and I don't know what to do about it. But it would bother me a lot. I sympathize.

Hope you find a solution and that you'll come back and tell us when you do.

PM moving

Thanks for all comments. Last night I taped my PM in place with some soft strapping tape keeping it well away from my wound. That seemed  to be quite effective.

Tape

I would not use tape. That skin may get irritated by the tape - making a new problem.
Just my opinion but tape would really bother my skin.

Lavendar, Have you tried surgical paper tape?  It's often used for bandaging.

I can't use any surgical tape, paper tape etc. They use Coban to hold the gauze on me or hold on an IV. 🙄. Even with that, it can't be left on long!

I slept as normal as possible

Mine stuck out also. I only noticed if I felt for it. I eventually told myself to sleep as normal as possible because I wasn't going to rearrange my whole sleep for this pacemaker. IT was going to get use to How I slept not the other way around. I finally was able to get it settled and it's been fine. I did have to adjust it in the beginning of when on my left side to start when going to sleep. It should settle in how your body position is and it will.

You know you're wired when...

Your signature looks like an EKG.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
