I don't know if others saw this but evidently there is a good chance that Apple watch imports will be banned. There is an FTC patent infringement investigation. Apple is accused of using AliveCor's intellectual property in its heart monitor. There is a lot of wiggling going on in the background but there is some chance that it will hold. Get your Apple watches now, before there is a run on them. 🥲

My watch is tied to my phone; otherwise it is an independent entity. My watch is what alerted me to a low heartrate (below 40 bpm). The heart rate monitor feature also works independently and will give alerts as you have programmed.
I am forever grateful for mine since it probably saved me from fainting during exercise, etc.

You can't if your watch dies and they're no longer sold in the US. This one could get ugly.
Apple Watch and iPhone

The Apple Watch may work just fine with an iPhone but the iPhone requires the rest if the iEcosystem. That's a bridge too far. I once had an iPod. It was useless without the rest of the ecosystem. Third party software was needed for Windows and Apple broke that (can't have competition).

Interesting.
Does the Apple watch work independently of other devices or is it tied to Apple or Macintosh?
I'm guessing it works better for downloads etc, but I have to say, I'm not a big fan of Apple stuff and never did get on with Macbooks.
