Heartburn

I just had a pacemaker surgically implanted.   I am day 7 post surgery and have had bad heartburn ever since.    The doctors prescribed pantoprazole 40 mg.   It is helping but still have breakthrough discomfort.

I'm sorry to hear this but can tell you to avoid chocolate, coffee, alcohol, tomato products. The doctor could also prescribe something else to help. 

Pantoprozole

Pantoprozole may need several doses to acheive maximum effect. If you have developed any inflammation this will take some time to ease up. There are other medications that can be added so it may help to check with your doctor.
