heart pain

After 3 weeks implanted the pacemaker,  when I lie down a couple hours, my heart has needle pain feeling... after I wake up, sit up, or walk around, the pain will go away. My day is very normal as before.  Is anyone experiencing  the same or similar problem?

When I felt the heavy pain, I went to ER, they helped me check everything, my pacemaker runs well, my blood is good, and I did the med cath, X-ray on chest, ultra-sound for my heart, all good, the doctor cannot figure out what's caused the pain.  I ended up with some Maalox & Xylocaine >=<

I believe there is nothing wrong with my stomach!!!

I agree with Angry Sparrow, but I am a bit confused by your post.

You mention sharp needle like pain and then 'heavy' pain.  Are they the same pains?

I wondered if the sharp pain could be your wound knitting together. That can feel like needle type sensations, particularly if you only got your PM 3 weeks ago.

If you are not reassured by ER it would be sensible, as Angry Sparrow says, to contact your cardiologist.  Have you had your post operative check yet? You could bring it up then perhaps?

If Iwere a betting man and given the positional occurrence, I'd bet on the stomach or perhaps gallbladder, though an x-ray should see stones. Heart rate pain usually registers somewhere else than directly on the heart. GI track issues often do seem like heart problems.

Sharp needle like pain - we know it well

Needle like pain (?sharp in nature) might mean your delicate nerves have been irritated by the implant procedure.

Both I and my husband experienced sharp, needle like pain following our implants.  My husband’s pain was clearly caused by a complication (pleural effusion which had to be drained) which led to pleural inflammation, causing a number of uncomfortable symptoms, including sharp needle like pain.  It was treated by a short course of an anti inflammatory med and antibiotics.  In my case, the needle like pain was probably caused by the implant procedure itself causing irritation of nerves during implant.  This lasted some months I remember and was helped by neuropathic medication Pregabalin.

Since you have been to ER and have received a number of tests, I suppose you can be partially reassured that nothing serious is causing your discomfort, but if you develop worsening symptoms or they become more frequent, you should of course go back to your doctors for further assessment.  Chest pain that is new or continuing should never be ignored.
