Specialist help

So excited, 5 months after getting a pacemaker change and having problems with exercise and pulsing under ribs, I'm going to have a session with someone from the company ( Biotronic) along with the hospital physiologist.
Not sure how common this is but I'm feeling very hopeful.
Has anyone had the same and was it successful. ?
Life feels on hold again and it's really getting me down.
Fingers X

Happy 2023

Hi Jane 👋🏼

I'm glad you're pursuing getting more insight from the pros. It's wonderful having the rep and EP working towards the best possible settings for optimizing your device!

The only time I had both my EP and device rep work together was the morning after my pacemaker was implanted. The EP had to approve the setting changes made by the rep. Since then techs check the pacemaker and the cardiologist approves any change suggested by the tech.

Best wishes on getting better results! You've sure been through a lot!

YES!

I'm just now seeing your message, Jane. Yes, the settings adjustments I received from working with a Biotronik rep alongside my clinic tech were lifechanging ... of nearly the same magnitude as getting the implant itself. I was experiencing exercise intolerance but wouldn't say I had a pulsing feeling such as you describe. The upshot for me was to turn on rate response (CLS in the Biotronik). I think there was also a timing tweak, but I didn't request a setting change summary so I don't know - consider asking for a report of any changes done.

Good for you for investigating options to ensure your needs are addressed. And keep trying if necessary, after giving some time to adjust to any new settings.

Best wishes to you in the new year, as well.

Thank you

Thank you both for your comments. Persephone... you've given me hope 😂.
As yet I don't have a date so it's the waiting game.
Just back from a walk and had to keep stopping going up the track, felt totally puffed and wobbly.
Will try and get a print out of any changes made and will let you know how it goes.
I think the US works with the company specialists more than in the UK.
