Just like to say I am jumping up and down as I was finally able to login🤗
I am from Australia and my first pacemaker was fitted 2016. Did not know I had Bradicardia until I have fainted (1st time) while on my little foldable bicycle and unfortunately sustained moderate head injuries....ended in hospital for 18 days. While in ICU I had Ventricular pauses - standstill and the rest is history ❤️ I am super fit and active all my life...now 71yo. Feel actually grateful to the whole episode- event ...it was complete surprise!? Also left some other "damages" like lost of smell and taste and traumatic optic neuropathy in one 👁...but body is coping really well and so is my mind😌 I don't know anyone but I read your posting avidly🤗 some of your are real veterans....Thank you so much

Millie, welcome, I am still getting a Whoops looks like something went wrong message when I try to look up your Bio but you are most definitely an active member of the Club now and I am so sorry you have been having problems logging on.  I hope you have had a very happy Christmas down under in the sunshine and warmth.  I am in the UK but have family in Queensland.

You have had quite a journey but hopefully now you have pacemaker support you are doing very well.

Both hubby and I got our pacemakers in 2018, mainly because of syncope, pausing and bradycardia.  I was also diagnosed with tachycardia and bradycardia syndrome.  My heart seems totally confused at times but that is the nature of electrical disturbances.  I am in my 70s too, but you sound a lot healthier.  Please let us know if you need any help either with logging on or have any pacemaker questions and we will try to help.

Like Gemita, I too get a message that something has gone wrong when trying to see your profile. 
I am like you-fainting for six months though-then a heart monitor discovered my ventricular standstill! It's rare. What a treat!

In preop the nurse was surprised to see no injuries on my face. She said most folks headed for pacemakers who fainted-had bad facial injuries.

Lavender - I find this detail fascinating and feel motivated to learn more. I hesitate to say this, but it sounds almost like a lack of experience and/ or bias on the nurse's part, especially since you point out that the causative condition is rare. I don't understand what benefit it would be to the patient for the nurse to state this.

I could be way off base and simply projecting my own experience which was a different situation and through the ER.
