Up date with the results from pet scan and last remote transmission

Pet Scan was advised by the Cardio Doctor after a surprise remote transmission from Nov 27.  Not the regular one that was at that time scheduled for Dec 20th.   Was on shedule.   Because at that time was reported that i had 2 Ventricluar high rate episodes.  Thought maybe an artery was blocked going to the heart.

Was surprised that i received the results so fast. When i was leaving after the scan asked the tech when i would hear the results, was told the doctor would get within the hour and i should hear in a week.  I said did not have a follow up appt.  Was told i could be fitted in if need be.

Impressions;  Negative strss induced arrthythmias, Normal left ventriclar function, no Evidence of infarct.  Was told as i left that the pacemaker was functioning as it should be.

The bottom line is Recommendations/Conclusions: Low risk for medical management,

Now to the pacemaker report from Nov 27 to Dec 20. No ventriclar high rate episodes detected.  Only 51 AT/AF were at rest  included only 2 active ones and after eating 2 slices of pizza.  Now that i know will only eat one at a time.  It is the reaction to the wheat where i nap after eating wheat. Generally in front. of the TV.

Have elminated the AT during the night by taking    my supplement of Turmeric just before going to bed at night.

Hopefully the next quarter will not have any more A-Fib's or at least their will be less.

PET scan

That's great news!  I'm sure you're relieved.

BTW, I only eat one slice of pizza at a time, too.  Three at a sitting but only one at a time. 😁

That is reassuring news

Dear New to Pace,

I am delighted to read that your PET Scan results are so reassuring and that Ischaemia does not appear to be the cause for your occasional non sustained Ventricular Tachycardia episodes.

Nonetheless, I note from your recent downloads that your atrial tachy arrhythmia episodes still continue, mainly while at rest, so this might indicate a few possibilities, like sleep disordered breathing or bradycardia induced arrhythmia, since when you are active, with no doubt a higher heart rate, your episodes are fewer.

Of course I am not suggesting that you stay active 24/7 without rest, but it does suggest to me that you might have some form of Vagal Atrial Fibrillation (AF) caused by the stimulation of your Vagus Nerve during rest or digestion.  The Vagus Nerve can cause an increase in heart rate variability with periods of pausing, atrioventricular block, bradycardia and tachycardia.  Patients often have no underlying heart disease or other systemic disorders that could explain their AF or other electrical disturbances.  Vagal AF occurs mainly at rest/during sleep, after eating a big meal, or when we have digestive problems. Vagal AF is usually preceded by bradycardia.  Perhaps arrhythmias begin as a nervous system problem and then become a heart problem after the arrhythmia is established which is why control of our arrhythmia may eventually be necessary.

But, having said all of the above, what absolutely amazes me about your situation and confirms my belief that one size certainly doesn’t fit all, is that you are doing so well on absolutely no formal medical treatment, only your own supplements.  This is an indication, at least to me, that for some of us “doing nothing” may also be an option.  Long may it continue New to Pace and I wish you all the very best and a happy and peaceful Christmas.

Thanks AgentX86 glad you are able to eat one at a time with 3 slices in front of you.

Gemita thanks as usual for your indept comments.  Most of my A-fib episodes are from the allerigic reaction to after i eat Wheat.  Tracked the times and what i ate from Non.27- Dec 20.  was from falling asleep after ingestion of the wheat.  Which i had wondered years back  before the pacemaker, if that was a problem.  One small peice is ok not the larger slice.  From now on will get the 18" pizza cut into 8 slices.  Same thing with the rye bread 2 slices i do not react, but  more  i do.  Take a Gluten enyzme supplement, Lactaid tablets and Beano just before eating.  Oh yes half hour before take the Turmeric supplement.

Wishing you the best this holiday season.  I will try and stay warm here in Fl in the 50F degree weather.

🥶❄️

Lol at staying warm in 50 degrees! I'm much further north and in the snow belt. Yesterday was -4 with a windchill of -29. The lights flickered a few times with the wind gusts up to 50mph. Definitely a white Christmas but the woodburner keeps it warm even should the oil furnace go out. Blustery, as Winnie the Pooh would say🌬️💨

God bless us, every one. 🎄

-4 with a windchill of -29

It was 8F with a windchill of -14F last night.  ...and we're in Georgia!  One of my outside faucets is frozen.  The pipe goes the length of the garage on an outside wall.  I sure hope the pipe doesn't burst.  There is no shut-off for it and there isn't even a shut-off for the house.  I'd have to turn the whole house off from the street and I don't have a street key.  Crossing fingers.

It's supposed to be 60F by next weekend.

AgentX86 you might put a blanket over the pipe.  Then  you should   after this have a shut off valve put in by your home.

This is the only time for me that i get cold water out of the cold water faucet.  Otherwise it is tepid.

Pipe

by AgentX86 - 2022-12-24 23:31:17

I would have had to turn off the supply to the whole house, at the street.  If it was just cold overnight (as normal) it woudn't be a problem but we've had two nights (tonight's the third) in the singles and teens.  That's enough to get through any insulation (if there is any).

The pipe is inside a wall common with the (unheated) garage and outside. There is no access so it's not a matter of insulation. There is 20' of drywall on one side and sheething/siding on the other.  I should have left the water running but thought the problem would be the faucet itself so insulated it. I couldn't do both.  The faucet froze anyway but a heat gun thawed it in a minute or two.

I looked at the layout of the water supply today.  The worlds biggest idiot couldn't have done this house by accident.  It had to be an evil plan.

These things always happen on holidays.  The first Thanksgiving in the house, the septic system backed up all over the yard, this thanksgiving something clogged the drain on half the house, now a frozen pipe on Christmas.

As everyone here knows, life sure is an adventure.

The good thing is that our pacemaker/ICD's keep on working  while there are other problems going on in our homes.

Glad to hear from you Marybird had been wondering how you were coming along with your house repairs.  Sorry to hear about your tumble and glad you did not suffer any serious damage to your body.

I agree  with you about the very cold water out of the cold water tap.  Been taking longer for the hot water to heat up.

yes have been keeping better records of what i eat and when since the Nov 27 transmission which as i have said before not the qurartely one.  It has been really hard to give up wheat again as had allergic before for nearly 20 years.  When the allergic test said no more, quickly indulged.  Now am going very slowly with the pizza hopeing not to kick off the A-fib episodes.

Have my yearly checkup with the cardiologist in May.  Hope that is the next time i speak with her, if i behave myself at 82.  What fun is that.!
