Most newer pacemakers are MRI compatible, but more commonly, it is the wires that may determine whether you can safely have an MRI. Plus, imaging centers may not have the capability to scan you. Check with your cardiologist.

Probably, maybe

Anyone with a pacemaker will have to go to a hospital with a cardiac care facility for an MRI.  There is no way any of the MRI-in-the-box places will take you.  Radiologists will be hesitant, as well.  At a minimum, you'll have to have  cardiac clearance from your cardiologist.  It can still be a problem.  It took me a month, after one hospital refused, to get everything together so I could have one.

Once everything was pulled together, it took maybe a half hour from the time I got there until I was walking out the door.  Everyone knew what to do and the procedure for safing the PM and restoring it after went like clockwork.  They'd done this rodeo before.

You know you're wired when...

You have a dymo-powered bike.
