Abbott recall, software fix?

Has anyone with the St Jude/Abbott recall been told there may be a software fix, that the battery is not actually low and may not need replaced? We knew mine was part of the recall but were not concerned because I've had it since 2015 and most affected by the recall deplete sooner than this. Mine went from 9 years in January to watch list for replacement last month. My ep called Abbott and believes it is not actually low, that it's a software glitch. They want to interrogate in person to learn more. I'm away for two more weeks, they were not concerned about the delay.

I had to laugh, the call came while I was at a trailhead, lacing up my hiking boots to head into the backcountry. We had been out of cell service most of the week, but the trailhead for some reason had full bars.

I was sent that video of Tracey and her husband via my Medtronic App.   Apparently the various PM companies have an agreement to share exciting content,

Isn't technology wonderful !

But how does a pacemaker take video? I understand how they could tell when to record but the actual video?

BTW, my cardiologist hadn't said anything to me about the Medtronic recall but was fully aware of it and how it affected me specifically (ERI means "right now", not "whenever it's convenient in the next three or four months").

Tracy,

as I've said here before my st Jude / on recall list, went from 9.2 years to 6.1 in 3 months recently.

I pushed them on this and come to find out Abbott changed some parameters on estimating battery life. This was a software change. Yours sounds more acute than mine.

Btw I read the recall letter, it is due to adhesive that was used over that time period and sometimes allows moisture to penetrate the unit and short circuit so it's a physical / hardware problem and no software change can fix that.

You know you're wired when...

You have a 25 year mortgage on your device.

A pacemaker suddenly quitting is no more likely to happen than you are to be struck by lightening.
