Question Regarding Biotronik Pacemaker

I have a Biotronik pacemaker, and I noticed that I can feel when my pacemaker uploads the data to the monitor that I keep at my bedside each night around midnight. If I happen to be awake at the time, it feels like my heart is beating very hard, and it lasts for about a minute. I don't think it has woken me if I am sleeping at the time. Has anyone noticed this?

Hi Davel - I hope you're feeling well. Yes, the device does a self-check routine that can vary your heartrate for a short time - I felt sensitive to this at first but have not noticed it in years. You can ask to have the timing of it changed as necessary. Best to you.

Self test

If this problem continues and changing the time doesn't help, it can be turned off completely. It's better than interrupting your sleep. The PM is intended to make your life better, not worse.

Turned It Off

I experienced the same issue and the device tech suggested turning off the self test (mentioned above by AgentX86). Best decision ever! Finally, started sleeping through the night.
