Is this a concern

I am 3 1/2 weeks post pacemaker implant.  I think I am doing well adjusting.  I have my moments.

My surgical sight is healing well. This weekend it seemed to me that I had a little more bulge on one side of my incision sight.  There has always been a little raised area because of the pacemaker.  It just seems a little more pronounced on one side. (not red or sore)  I don't know if I just notice it more now.

Does anyone know if the raised area can chage as it heals or with movement? My follow up apppoinnment with my doctor is not for another 3 weeks.  I will check in with my doctor.  I just wonder if anyone has has similar experinece.

I appreciate any input.

Thanks.

Bulge

Hi Bob

im just entering my 3rd week - post implant too

I don't think I'd worry too much about your bump or bulge as mine is exactly the same ! Mines more raised or pronounced on the shoulder end of the implant . As things settle down and swelling receeeds etc it's going to look a bit odd and bumpy

Bump on PM site

If there is no pain or redness, don't worry. Just don't look at your PM site for the next three weeks. It takes a little time for the PM site to settle down.

I Wouldn't Worry

Hello,

As others have said, if there's no pain or redness (or sign of an infection), I wouldn't worry too much. I assumed the bulge was going to be present forever, but noticed it went away after a month or so.

Now, I barely notice it unless I run my hand over it, then I can feel a slight bump.

Hope it goes away for you soon!

Take care

Jer

Thank you for keeping me from worrying.

Same question!!

I had the same question.  Glad you asked.  I am a little over two weeks post implant.  I never had pain even after implant while in the hospital.  They gave me tylenol for a headache and that was it (I feel blessed).  But the incision sure is pronounced and doesn't seem to be shrinking.  I'll follow the guidance here and allow a few more weeks for it to heal completely.
