Happy Anniversary to Me

... and to my little battery-powered companion.  We'll be celebrating four years next week.  I'll never forget our special moment when we became as one ...notwithstanding that I was unconscious at the time.  What a great companion over these years - hoping for a few more together :)

Wishing you many more :)

Oh to be 4 years old

you are still a baby with lots of life still to live.  Take good care of Persephone and she will take good care of you.

Does your battery powered companion have a name Persephone?  Perhaps we could all help you to find one????

Thanks Tracey and Gemita

hmmm... as far as a name, maybe Pomegranate Seed would be good, to fit in with the Persephone tale :)

Happy Anniversary from My Heart to Yours!

And many more years of happy ticking along to you and your little titanium buddy there!

The 4th anniversary of the rest of your life, so to speak!

Gotta look up the Persephone tale, if I ever knew about it I have forgotten it.

Thanks Marybird!

Persephone's is a story of sorrow and hardship, separation and loss, but more importantly about rebirth, flourishing, and hope for the future.  Seemed like a good fit :)  (I actually had named my middle aged cat adoptee "Persephone, Queen of the Underworld" since she had had to leave her home which was hard, and would only live in the basement crawl space here for quite a while before she could trust us.  Her name got shortened to "Fluffs" so I took the Persephone moniker)

Persephone:

Thank you for sharing this with us.  From your posts I can see that you have hidden depths and have known hardships but that you are a survivor full of hope for the future.  You also have a great deal of patience and you are an animal lover giving Persephone, Queen of the Underworld, latterly Fluffs, such a caring home.  I love the name "Persephone" which for me is full of hope and regeneration, although I see it is a female name of Greek origin that means Bringer of Destruction?  Never!  Is Fluffs still with you?

AgentX86:

Happy pacemaker birthday to you too!  My 4th pacemaker year is fast approaching (in May).  Can we all say we are in a better place now?  I think so

Thanks for the Explanation, Persephone

Seems fitting, with the emphasis on Survivor, and hope for a better future.

I'm guessing renaming your kitty from Persephone to Fluffs marked her transition from the crawl space to confidence and trust in you, and a better future. Lucky kitty!

So happy 4th ( or almost) pacemaker birthdays to you, Persephone, Agent and Gemita, and many more. Guess my little titanium buddy ( I named her Millie, short for Millie Voltz) is still a toddler at 2.5 years old. I noticed the other day that the scar is barely noticeable, though the pacemaker sticks out the slightest bit, not noticeable unless one knows it's there.

Thanks again, all

Marybird - the millie volts name is awesome!  What an imagination.  I'm going to have to share this with my electrical engineering geek friends and family.  (I mean "geek" in a most friendly way :)

Gemita - you are so kind - yes, Fluffs is here, she arrived shortly after my PM, and has in fact become a bit outgoing - not quite a lap cat, but persistant enough to show that she's feeling empowered and not as scared.  She has a "sister" who arrived with her (pretty sure they're not actually related) and they're a team - reminds me of the support we all give each other here.

Congrats on the 4 years! That's a great achievement and here's to many more healthy years with your companion.

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
