If not for a pacemaker

Hi pacers

Thank you all for the Birthday wishes. As you know we live in country Australia. I am truly blessed with so many friends via this wonderful site.

My day was spent with my family - Husband, daughter and grandson. We had a special dinner at home which we all prepared. Fish. Then a lovely cheesecake. It was a truly great evening to sit down to a wonderful meal together.

It is lambing season. We have an orphan in a cage in the entry hall to the house as the weather is so cold. She is so tiny we went down the op shop this afternoon and got a couple of baby fleece jumpers for her. She looks so cute in her royal blue shirt. She is actually on baby formulae as she was not tolerating the ewe and lamb milk very well but seems to have perked up since her milk was changed. It is so cold - frosts at night. Often there are little ones in the paddock that did not make it through the night. It is a great challenge to coax the ones along that have been rejected or lost their mother's.

Our cocker spaniel feels kind of left out and maintains that it is her that should have all the fuss!!

Well if it wasn't for my pacemaker I would not have seen my 65th birthday today. The bonus is all you friends out there. Thanks a lot and good wishes to all. Take care, pace well, keep in touch. Have you ever thought that all the comments and life stories would make one to those lovely Readers Digest stories for a condensed book!!!!

Hi Billie,

Sounds like you had a terrific birthday with your loving family. Doesn't get much better than that, does it? I love knowing about the little lamb you are caring for. Do you have a big herd of sheep? To me sheep & lambs are some of the most precious animals. I always think of the many stories in the Bible - old & new testaments - about sheep & lamb. The Lord calls us "His sheep". I hope your little one does well. Does this happen often with the babies and ewes? It must be a great life! Keep us posted on your "baby".

We have a lot to be thankful for today.(and everyday).
Let's enjoy it, and the collected words of support sounds like a great idea.
Best wishes,

In fact after the final "tweaks" of my pacemaker programming at the one year check up it is working so well that I forget I have it.
