My cardio Dr gave me a new beta blocker med, Bystolic. Generic name is Nebivolol. It supposedly has less side effects than the current beta blockers and is new to the market.
Has anyone used it? How did it work?
I have a DR Medtronic implanted pacemaker and bradycardia. The beta blocker is to control my extra beats and help the blood flow through the heart.
Thanks for any feedback.

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.
Very happy with Bystolic

My cardiologist changed me from Toprol to Bystolic about six weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. The medication is used to keep my heart rate down. With Toprol, I had a constant brain fog and felt depressed a lot. Now I feel as if my "lobotomy" has been reversed. I was warned that there could be some initial side effects, such as stomach distress, with Bystolic but I experienced no problems. It is my understanding that Bystolic has been used in Europe for years and is fairly new to the U.S. market only. Anyway, when my doc first told me about it and went on and on about its merits, I told him some drug rep had really done a number on him. He laughed, gave me some samples, suggested that I at least give Bystolic a try and that I could always retun to Toprol. At this point, there will be no return!
