Social Event
My wife & I are planning to attend a Heartbeat International fundraiser on Saturday, September 26, 2009 in Tampa, Flordia. I was thinking other members and possibilly their spouses may want to join us.
There has been much talk about a social event for members and I thought Flordia would be a good location. I was thinking we could have a wine/cheese reception on Friday evening, visit Bush Gardens on Saturday and then attend the Heartbeat "Dancing with the Stars" dinner/auction on Saturday evening. It would be a great opportunity to meet one another.
If people are interested, I could find a hotel where we could stay and arrange the weekend’s activities. Those attending would be responsible for their travel, accomodation and meal expenses.
Please let me know what you think and share your ideas. Your responses will help me gauge the level of interest before I actually start planning the event. If people are interest, an educational session with speakers could be arranged instead of visiting Bush Gardens.

It is so good to have something positive to look forward to! I wonder how my hubby is going to take the news that he will be missing me whenI room in with the Pacer chicks! Ha Ha!
I am so very happy to have this to look forward to. I really think I can make it. It would be such a positive thing and it could do wonders for all of us and our hearts! If I can figure out how to actually do some work during this event I could right it off as a business expense! Need a poster of an invitation designed????
hugs to all and thank you Blake for mentioning the fundraiser.

Well since I live in the Tampa area, if I'm not out of town, I'll be there.
Did someone say "Party"?

Hi Blake,
This really sounds like fun! I will see what I might be able to do. I have just lost my job... but that shouldn't trouble me too much. I have good leads for a new one. So If I get a new job and they "let" me have a few days, I would love to join everyone in Sept. It would be lovely to see everyone. I have learned this year that time is a precious thing, let's not waste any!
I will keep you posted. There is plenty of time to start saving for this trip now. If I am able to attend by myself I would love to double up in a hotel with other pacer chicks! Just think of the fun we could have! he he.... like do you want to see me scar! ha ha///
love, Pacergirl

If I can swing the time off work that would be awesome.....I have never been to the eastcoast never mind Florida. What a great opportunity to meet up. If anyone ever makes it out to British Columbia let me know I'd love to meet a fellow pacer...and maybe you could meet my pacing family.
I don't know how many of you know that I have 4 other sibs who have PM's and I have 2 nieces and 1 nephew who have PM's. For awhile there we had our own cycling team called the Pacemakers. Anyhow....I digress it would be awesome to meet any fellow PM memebers.
Cheers, Mary Anne
I'm game !!!!

Just a four hour drive for me.......what'ya say Tracey, you think we can put a lasso around Loopy and drag her down here?
Patch, can you imagine the mere thought of Pacergirl, TraceyE, Angelie, and Loopy in the same room.
Pillow fight from hell, feathers everywhere, chocolate, spirits......and lots and LOTS of pacer energy...LOL!
No drilling holes in the wall for looksies, though.
Sure why not?

Blake,
I am totally for this trip. I think some how we all can save for this trip or even do fundraisers or what not. Can you give a estimate on how much it would cost for the rooms? Thanks!
Tammy
great idea!

I'm on the road so I can't check my calendar but I think that weekend is free. I can get there easily, either drive it or a quick flight, so count me in!
Blake, there is a Marriott right at the Tampa airport, easy access without renting cars or getting taxis. There are also a lot of great hotels just a few minutes away that have shuttles and are next to a shopping/restaurant area (Bill, help me out here, I'm blanking on the name!). One of my clients has regular meetings there, we all fly in and stay there. If I can be of assistance with the planning, please let me know. I promise to behave and not let Lou and Angelie influence me. :o)
And I was slow to answer...

and am more than a little shy (how's that for a Sales Rep who practically lives on the road), but it sounds like it could be fun. I'm not a definite, but how about a maybe, leaning toward probably?
