LBBB PACING

Just was made aware of LBBB Pacing which is a new technique. Just wondered how it differs from HIS bundle pacing and if it involes a third wire.

LBB pacing

As I understand it, LBB pacing is similar to His bundle pacing but has some advantages.  There are several issues with His pacing, primarily it's not easy to get the leads in place and the capture voltage and time (energy) tends to be higher than one would want.  LBB pacing is supposed to aleviate these concerns and seems to be superrior to CRT pacing in those with PIC but more research/testing needs to be done.  It sounds promising though.

Cardiac conduction system

Search that in your web browser. You will find the ventricles are activated with what looks like a nervous system. It strategically choreographs the timing of the muscle cells of the left and right ventricles.

It all starts with the AV node, which activates the His bundle, containing he left and the right bundle branches. The left bundle activates the powerful left ventricle and the right bundle branch activates the right ventricle. The beauty of His bundle pacing is that it synchronizes the left and right ventricles in a normal, physiologic manner.
