Chest Pain after exercise

Hello,

I am 26 years old, have had my icd/pacemaker for 4 years, besides a few episodes of svt, I've been doing great. However, last week I noticed that I would get quite intense left-sided chest pain. The pain only comes after exercise, never during, it feels dull/pressure-like. I know that chest pain can be caused by anything from an actual heart attack to overused muscles. Should I call my doctor, or do nothing as I am young and otherwise healthy? Thank you in advance, Paula

I would speak to your doctor or consider ER

Paula, as this is new, I would speak to your doctor and let him decide whether further investigations are necessary.  Any new chest pain should never be self diagnosed or ignored.  Yes you are young and healthy and it may well be muscle pain, but at least speak to your doctors who can diagnose the condition and put your mind at rest.  On the other hand consider visiting ER where they usually have a rapid access chest pain clinic.

Good luck

Yes, call them

Maybe you can get an appt this week to be seen or have a call.  Please don't push this aside, Paula - best to not risk delaying attention to something that may not be OK.

Lately I've experienced the same issue and its only after intense exercise. The dull/ache is awful so I know exactly how you feel. The real problem is no one can tell me why and it doesn't happen every time. According to my last CT Angiogram I have clean pipes and my last stress/echo showed a good EF so not sure what is causing this. I just turned in another zio patch so hoping that will reveal something. I would absolutely get checked out by your doctor especially if you're due for any updated exams. All the best to you!

Check data

The pacemaker stores data so a look at what's in it's memory might help diagnose your problem. In your place I'd want to let the "health care team" know what you're experiencing.
