Random Chest Pain

So, I'm 19, I got my pacemaker two years ago. It's one lead and was put in for 2nd Degree AV Heart Block.

I've experienced random chest pain over the two years (sharp almost cramp like pain). They don't last for a long time--a few second, maybe a minute or two max.

I was wondering if anyone else experiences this? Or if you did and it went away.

Thank you! I hope you all have a lovely day!

You're quite young but it's not impossible to have structural heart problems.  Any chest pain is something to have checked out.  If the pain is right where your heart it, it may be a stomach/esophagus issue but it really should be investigated as soon as possible.  It's unlikely a pacemaker problem but anything can happen.

It's odd that a single lead pacemaker was used for a heart block.  I wonder how that works or why two leads wasn't used.

Thank you for your response! :)

I have an appointment soon, I'll be sure to ask about it. I just wanted to know if it was  a normal issue or not.

It was actually a fluke that they found out I had heart block. I use my pacemaker very rarely, maybe 15 times in the two years. That's why they put one lead in!

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didn’t slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.
