Has anyones PM caused them to lose sleep? If so what did you do about it?

Lower rate limit too high?

I had my pacermaker implanted in July of 2020 and had a horrible time trying to sleep afterwards (I was lucky to get 4 hours in a 24 hr period). When I went in for my 6 week follow-up, I asked the technician what my lower rate was set at. She looked and told me my pm's lower limit was set to 60 bpm. Being a long-distance runner, my resting heart rate tends to be lower than average (low to mid 50's). After a quick call to the cardiologist, the technician got the all-clear to turn my bottom rate down to 50. Since that time my sleep has vastly improved.

I'm not saying that this will definitely be the fix for you, as your reason for being paced may be completely different than mine. It may be worth at least asking about though.

yes, got used to it

I have CCHB and my rate was in the 30s at night, jumped to 60s with the new pacer (over 30 years ago).  The doc may have lowered it to 50 later in the year but I simply got used to it.

Today I explained everything to my doctor, he set my lower rate back to 80 and I felt an immediate improvement.
