It takes a little while to heal

Dear Omar,

So many sensations may be perfectly normal in the beginning.  All I can say is if you are clearly getting sounds coming from your device area and you are worried about them, please do ask your pacemaker team for advice.  It is so difficult to know what might be going on - maybe something, maybe nothing - but I always prefer to err on the safe side.  That is just me and it has never let me down.  You know your own body best.

I couldn't comfortably lie on my side for a long time Omar, maybe up to 3 months.  Have you tried wedging an extra pillow under your chest and rolling onto it as you try to sleep on your side.  This helped me.  Lots of nice padding and support to prevent my device from any movement.

Do have a word with your doctors if you are worried.  That would be the quickest way to reassure you that all is probably well and completely normal at this early stage in healing.  Wish you better soon

uncomfortable leads and PM

HI there, I had my PM 11mths ago and still feel uncomfortable when sleeping. i agree with Omar,  wedge a cushion in between and sleep comfortably. I was paranoid at first about the leads and use to visit the Techs monthly just to be told all is well.

hope this helps

I have had my pacer since 2005. At first it ruled my life. It took some time to calm down and make the mental adjustment. I had trouble sleeping and I worried a lot about pulling wires. Now I just live my life as I wish.
