I got my pacemeker about 14 months ago.
Heart rate was set at 60
These dayes I have been feeling COLD FEET, SOME SHORTNESS OF BREATH AND LOT OF FATIGUE EVEN THOUGH I HAVE BEEN SLEEPING WELL.
Have several times requesed my EP to increase setting on my pace maker but every time he says it is not because of PM. It could be something else. 1st he asked me to talk to my cardialogist which I did. This time he suggested to see my Family doctor
I am really tired fed up and at cross road. I don't know what to do.
Any suggestion
Thanks in advance

Hi there...so you WERE feel okay/normal for the 14 months or so after the pacemaker put in, correct? There were no changes to the pacemaker settings made recently, etc., correct?
How old are you? Any other health conditions? Can you describe your diet, exercise regimen?
appropriate path

Starting with the general practitioner is the right thing to do. It's easy to blame everthing on the pacer, but all the pacer can do is make your heart beat faster. It's important to rule out other things first.

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
Ask your general doctor first

Hello Raghbir,
I would pop along to see your general doctor and explain your symptoms. They can check your bloods and rule out a few possibilities, like for example anaemia, thyroid problems, signs of infection. I would also recommend you return to your pacemaker clinic and gently persuade them that you believe you would benefit from a higher heart rate. And don't take no for an answer. It cannot hurt to try and it will probably help. I always had cold feet and extreme fatigue (and breathlessness from arrhythmias) but with an increased heart rate (from 60 bpm to 70 bpm) what a difference it made to my circulation!
If your EP is unwilling to increase your minumum heart rate and you feel you are at a cross road, I would find a new EP who you can work with. I note you have a history of Atrial Fibrillation. Hopefully this is under control since if not, it can most definitely cause fatigue and shortness of breath, so something else to ask your EP/cardiologist. I hope you feel better very soon
