FEELING BETTER AFTER PM

by melvinbm1 - 2007-06-08 07:06:03

Don't know what your "Don't feel good" means. I had my first PM put in on May 10, 2007 and I have never felt "Bad" I'd suggest if you are having problems you should check with your doctor IMMEDIATELY. Lot of luck.

I had good and bad days also. It take a few weeks I think for the body to get used to the pm. For me it is still a process to get used emotionally to having it even though it's been 2 1/2 months. My roughest times have been with anxiety. I think lots of rest is needed, lots. I agree with everyone else that checking with a doctor is important. My doc was tired of talking to me but I finally got the answers I was looking for. Returning to a normal routine has been helpful also, as long as I wasn't pushing it to much
I hope this helps,
Rusty

I meant to type OP for OPERATION, not OM. Sorry for the confusion.

Soreness

by heckboy - 2007-06-09 12:06:25

Hi,

The soreness will come and go. Even now, years after my OM, if I lay off the gym and then go back, the site gets sore because the pocket gets irritated.

I recall being depressed after the OP, but that went away after i was able to resume my regular routine of gym, golf, etc...

best.

you might need fine tuning?

by bowlrbob - 2007-06-09 12:06:43

I felt better from the start but after a week or two started feeling worse again. I kind of wondered myself if I would ever get back to normal. At my second check-up I told the Dr. how I felt and he did some adjusting of the PM higher bpm. things like that and a rate drop response setting for my VVS. Huge difference. I felt then almost 100%. I don't know if we ever feel as good as we think we used to I am sure there are reasons for this.I for one am so fine tuned to my watching for warning signs that I am almost paranoid. You know ouch! what was that I have never felt that before. Well it is overboard from before the PM I never paid any attention to my body before.I am trying though and day by day feeling better and better. So will you. But ask your Doc about possibly fine tuning you PM to you. Everyone is different it takes some time. Bowlrbob

up and down days!

I know everyone will tell you different things but a lot of us felt some pain for a while.Overtime the weird feeling of having something in your chest will go away give it some time. As some others said you may need things set differently but a lot of times they won't lower that voltage until scar tissue has completely developed. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. May God Bless you! Welcome to this amazing site.

ANXIETY PROBLEMS

by 220 chandler ave - 2007-06-10 02:06:59

I TOO SUFFER FROM ANXIETY, WHICH I FEEL IS MOST OF MY PROBLEM, PLUS DEALING WITH ADJUSTING TO THE PM .

it takes as long as it takes

by jessie - 2007-06-10 12:06:47

depending on many things such as other health problems such as other heart problems it takes as long as it takes but three months for sure. during this time i had to go and have a thallium test and i was really fortunate not to have other heart problems. right now i am focusing on losing weight and it will be a year the end of august for me. i look at the pictures and can see from them just how sick i was. it was a miracle people were there for me that day or i would not be writing this. that is why it took me a long time emotionally to accept this and now i have. take care jessie
