PVC's Info Needed Please

Hi All.
It's been a long time since I've posted but have been reading with interest. I had a dual chamber Medtronic P.M. implanted in 2004 to help me cope with SSS caused by medications for A-Fib. Although recovery was slow all has gone well until the last 2 or 3 months. I have been experiencing a feeling that I am going to pass out along with what the Pacemaker Clinic is calling PVC's. My cardio. prescribed Warfarin and has gone on holidays for a month. (which by the way he has every right to do) However for the last 60 or so hours the PVC's have been wicked. I went to the E. R. this morning where I was kept for about half a day. The attending told me I was definately having PVC's but had not had a heart attack or stroke so go home and see my Cardio when he returns in a month. I asked if this was not putting me in high risk for a stroke and he nodded yes and bid me farewell.

I have done some reading and find there is a difference of opinion on whether or not PVC's are dangerous. Could someone out there who is dealing with these things please share some information on their course of action? Frankly this business of having my heart thumping around like an old tractor is getting a little scarey.

Thank you so much.

Call your doctor's office for referral

Dear Nuka:

How awful, and frightening! Please call your cardiologist's office. Either one of the staff may be in, or the doctor's answering service should answer. Ask for a referral, and say you really need to see that doctor. Be persistent, admit your concerns. If that doesn't work, ask your regular or family physician for help or referral for the duration. If you feel ill because of this, they should help you find relief -- not send you home because you haven't infarcted yet.

I wish you the best.

Where do you live?

I never heard of a doctor going away for a month without having a doctor cover for them. How strange. Especially a cardiologist. What gives?
