The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.

The pickups and the guitar itself are low voltage and have no real magnetic field, but you should keep your distance from the speakers in the amp. Keep the speakers away from your pm at a distance of 2 x size (e.g., a 12" woofer should stay 24" from your pm). The speakers have large magnets.
