New pacemaker

I had a biotronik implanted 4 weeks ago.  I feel mild "stabbing" sensations below the pacemaker.  Is this common?

Pain

All sorts of odd sensations are normal after such a surgery.  More often than not, nerves are cut or damaged during the surgery and it takes a while for everything to grow back together.  In the meantime, the brain makes up all sorts of things to "explain" the impulses coming from these damaged nerves.  Everyone is different and the nerves damaged are different so it's impossible to say what sorts of sensations any one person will have.  As long as it's mild pain, there is probably nothing to worry about.

As long as there is no sign of infection it's very unlikely, at this point, that anything is wrong.  Ask your doctors (nurses) if in doubt.  No one is going to think any less of you for asking questions after going through what you've been through recently.

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
